Stockholm- and New York-based journalist, copywriter, and speaker with a passion for fashion and sustainability.
ABOUT
I’m Anna Blom, a Swedish fashion journalist and trend expert. I work in Stockholm and New York, and have more than 12 years of experience in the fashion industry, both in Sweden and globally.
As a journalist I write articles for newspapers and fashion magazines, and am a frequent guest on Swedish national TV speaking about fashion trends. I’m especially interested in one of the greatest challenges of our time: how to combine fashion and sustainability.
My role as a writer starts by finding out exactly what my clients need – whether that’s slick copy or an engaging article. And most importantly, I don’t stop working until you’re satisfied.
As a copywriter – with one of the world’s largest design companies as my client – I strive to combine an intuitive understanding of the brand’s identity with precise insights into its commercial and artistic aspects.
As a journalist, my lifelong love of fashion has been a central driving force, but I also love the challenge of capturing the complexities of the people I meet and portray, whether they are designers, chefs or politicians. I’m fascinated by sustainability and how the fashion industry is working to migrate from a throwaway culture to more humane and environmentally-friendly practices.Whether writing in-depth pieces for top Swedish newspapers and magazines, interviewing fashion luminaries from Stella McCartney to von Furstenberg, or reporting from fashion weeks around the world, I am driven by my passion for capturing the essence of my subjects.
Whatever the platform, I am first and foremost a storyteller and words are my medium.

Old-fashioned ideals have long governed how a woman is expected to dress in order to be considered sexy. But now outdated stereotypes, often created by men, seem to have lost their hold. Forget red lace and push-up bras. In 2020, women decide for themselves what sexy means and how they want to express it.
“Anna taught me how to stay centred and capture the essence of a story using all my senses.”
— Ann-Sofie Persson, marketing coordinator & former student at Berghs School of Communication, Stockholm

Speaker
Fashion does not only leave sensory imprints – it often leaves dirty footprints. Nowadays, preventing waste and reducing toxic by-products is a top priority for fashion companies that want to remain successful.
In my lecture, Future of Fashion, I chronicle innovators who are inspiring the fashion industry to become 100% sustainable. Using visually inspiring images and fascinating yet light-hearted stories, I bring to life fashion influencers and their mission to produce sustainable, everlasting style.
By presenting cutting edge ideas in the field of sustainable fashion, I give the audience a glimpse behind the curtain of the circular economy, and how it will transform their lives.
